BUILDING MANUAL ROBOT
In this tutorial i am going to tell you how to make your first simplest ROBOT. After reading this you can make your own ROBOT and you can participate in most of the ROBOTICS events in India.
COMPONENTS REQUIRED:
Basically we will change the polarity of the DC motor by using DPDT switches.
now the connections of DPDT SWICHES are shown in FIGURE
the connections of B and E can be interchanged if you want to change the polarity.

COMPONENTS REQUIRED:
- DPDT SWITCHES - 2 PIECES
- BOX FOR DPDT SWITCHES
- 7M RIBBON WIRE
- DC GEARED MOTORS -4 (300 RPM)
- TYRE WITH SCREW -4 PIECES
- CHASSIS -1 piece
First , let us understand the basic concept of DC motor.
"THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION OF DC MOTOR CAN BE CHANGED BY CHANGING THE POLARITY"
Basically we will change the polarity of the DC motor by using DPDT switches.
now the connections of DPDT SWICHES are shown in FIGURE

the connections of B and E can be interchanged if you want to change the polarity.

Now look at the figure number 1,
CASE 1:
when we press the DPDT switch in upward direction then the point B is connected with A and the point C is connected with D.The motor starts to rotate in a particular direction, either clockwise or anticlockwise.
CASE 2:
Opposite is the case when the switch is pressed in downward direction that is the point B is connected with C and the point E is connected with F rotating the motor in reverse direction with-respect to first case case.
CASE 3:
when the switch is not pressed, the motor does not rotate and the robot remains stationary.
DC MOTOR
DC motor comes with a NUT through which it can be connected with chassis. we can connect four motors with a chassis as shown below
the Tyre come witha screw so that it can be connected with motors
1.Using two DPDT switches you can control 4 motors
2. In four wheel drive motor connect two motors in parallel. In above figure, two motors on the either side, left or right are connected in parallel.
make sure that Two motors connected in parallel must rotate in same direction
YOU CAN USE 12V -5A battery to control the robot
important points
1. connect motors with red and black wire such that when red is given positive and black is given negative, all motors rotate in same direction
2. the red and black wires of left two motors are connected that is red of one motor of left side with red of second motor and similarly with black.
3. do the same with right side.
4. finally after connecting we have two red wire and two black
5. one red and one black is connected to one dpdt switch and other with second dpdt switch
6. give the power to dpdt switch and you robot is ready
